Can someone recommend the correct varnish or lacquer to use on the door caps of a rolls Royce shadow 2?

refurbishing the wooden door caps of rolls royce shadow 2-what is the correct lacquer or varnish to use for the job-|||Hi

The correct varnish for this is marine varnish what they use on boats and yachts.this was because it had good hard wearing properties and it remained flexible because the wood trim in these cars had to expand and contract with heat and cold .

also it was water proof so if it was raining when the doors were open it did not matter if the old acid rain got on it .it would not mark it

Hope this helps|||Cellulose varnish was commonly used on older cars.|||I use Daily Crystal fin on the BMW interior woods.
