How reliable are rolls royce cars?

I am thinking about getting an old one with around 100k milage, I dont drive much and maybe would drive it 20-30 miles a week.

Can a car like that be in good condition anddo the engines last long.|||Yes, they are very reliable cars, but they are also very expensive to fix and upkeep. A jaguar's tune up is over 1k, and they cost between 50-90k. A Rolls cost about triple that, can you imagine the up keep costs.|||The best built and most reliable car built anywhere. That is a world wide professional opinion. The cost of parts are not cheap, but they do last a very long time. Far longer than any other car's parts, and they come with warranty to back them up too.

The most comfortable and dependable car on the road.

You can buy cheaper luxury, but you can not buy a better vehicle.

Remember, in Europe, the Fords and Chev's are expensive, and the Mercedes and BMW's are the cheaper, affordable family cars. Its a North American thing and mostly an American thing to consider them top of the line cars. But their parts are very expensive too, and they are not nearly as well built or even half as dependable as a Rolls. They rank right up there with the Fords and Chev's and Chrysler's. No worse, but no better, but cost a lot more to buy, run and maintain.

If you have the means, the Roller is the car!|||Define "an old one" - Rolls are well made with a lot of skilled craftsmen putting them together, but like any mechanical contraption they are subject to wear and tear.

100K is acceptable IF (BIG IF) you have a FULL service history showing that it has been serviced by a RR approved shop and can see all the bills spent on it over the years.

The kicker is replacement costs, because (until the German takeover) RR shared parts only with Bentley it means that some items are unbelievably expensive, new heads, gearboxes, transmission shafts, interior trim, brake fittings, suspension linkages, wheels and those fat tires and especially body panels.

If this vehicle has no history and has passed through many hands before yours then it's "CAVEAT EMPTOR" unless you are prepared to get it cheap and run it until it fails.|||I have been a mechanic for a lot of years. Here is the best answer I can give. Based on the price of the vehicle, the price of parts for the vehicle, and the labor to put the parts in. Add all that up and the answer will be not at all. If the vehicle is in great shape. Had all the maintenance done to it as required. as well as getting a good price. Then it is reliable. As with any car, if there has never been any maintenance done to it, If someone has let it get in bad shape then of course it will be unreliable. You will have to trust the person you are buying from. Good luck and I hope this helps.|||No car is in good condition at 100k miles or more. Regardless of make or how much money you spend buying it. Plus, because of the type of car, if something were to break on it, it would cost big bucks to repair/replace. Not to mention, the hassle of finding a shop that can accommodate a car like that.

What's your reasoning for buying this car? Is it that you want something flashy but can't afford it brand new? I'm curious.|||That car will be in good condition. I have one and bought one with 200k millage and it runs wonderfully. I have had that car for 6 years and it hasnt given me any problems.

hope i helped|||They are not reliable, but all cars no matter how the reliability, could last 200,000 miles with regular maintenance.|||THE #1 QUESTION IS .......IS THERE SOMEPLACE TO SERVICE IT CLOSE BY AND HOW MUCH DOES BASIC MAINTENANCE COST? GREAT CARS, BUT EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN.|||If you can afford a rolls royce, why worry about the miles. You can afford to fix it.|||I love Rolls but be careful, just overhauling the brakes will cost as much as a good used Toyota, seriously.|||a car is only as good as the next one.... any car at any point can break down in a second.... so you cant really say one car is more reliable than the next..|||Like with any car it all depends on how well the vehicle has been maintained in the past.|||I hope you aren't thinking of driving yourself around in an RR. Better hire a chauffeur.|||so reliable you cant afford one|||they make plane engines for most major companies so i think a 100k car would b ok|||very reliable, but difficult to service in the U.S.|||They cost heaps!! But they look kinda cool. Not sure how about their engines though.|||Some of the best made cars on earth.

Expensive to maintain and repair.|||do think that if a Business spent that much time building a car, they would make so it falls apart? of course they don't.|||not much? toyota's not that good looking but it is the best kwolity|||well they are in economy crisis at moment|||The price says it all!|||very|||i cant afford one but even if i could i would get a sports car|||how much?

dude...get a used mercedes or BMW...much better cars.|||not that safe

but they're awesome
