Why was it that for a while Bentley and Rolls Royce made the exact same cars with different names?

I hate to answer a question with a question, but here goes. Why did GM market the same exact vehcile with different mfg logos? ie. the Camaro and the Firebird, the Olds 88 and the Pontiac Bonneville and the Buick Park Ave.





It's called Marketing.





I make my own money. I drive what I want to drive.





I really am a Chrysler guy. I have a Durango, a D-150 and a 63 Chrysler New Port. I also drive a BMW on a daily basis. Forgin cars are much more economical. I get over 30 mpg. And it's a beautiful car.|||BUY AMERICAN CARS!!!!
