What would these employers carry out in their medical/drug tests? Are they likely to be very throrough? Hair or Urine Tests?|||Every pre employment drug test I have ever taken has been a Urine Test,, I would say that is most likely the test they will do on you as well.
hair testing is way too expensive.
Are they requiring a physical exam as well? That would consist of taking blood samples to make sure everything is normal, also may check vision, reflexes, abdomen , etc
I don't think most places require physical exams however.|||Some places still use the urine tests but these are very easy to fake..A great number of places use swabs-they place a stick with cotton wool type thing on the end, in between your cheek and gum. You have to sit there with your mouth closed for several minutes then it is sent off 4 analysis. I s'pose some place could use hair, but i think this is mainly if they suspect drug use over a period of time.The hair can show if u took a certain drug several months ago..
The drugs they are most likely to check for with a swab are: Amphetamines(speed),Opiates(heroin,metha鈥?etc.),Cocaine and Cannabis.
Also, remember that alot of cold remedies/pain killers will show up positive for opiates as alot of them may contain CODEINE, which is opiate based. Hope i helped a little :)
